BCCI President Sourav Ganguly praised the Indian cricket team’s victory over South Africa in the first round at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Thursday, saying he was not at all surprised by the result. India recorded a complete 113-run victory over South Africa in Test 1 to take a 1-0 lead in the three-game series. It was also India’s first test win at the Centurion, which is largely considered a strength for South Africa.

The former India captain said South Africa will have to play hard to beat the test team led by Virat Kohli in the ongoing series.

Meanwhile, Ganguly, 49, who was infected with Kovid-19 three days ago, remains ‘stable’ Thursday at the hospital where he is being treated.

He was transferred to a city hospital Monday night as a precautionary measure after the BCCI president’s RT-PCR test turned out to be Kovid-19 positive. He was hospitalized twice earlier this year and underwent emergency angioplasty after some heart problems.
