IND vs SA 2nd Test: How did Shardul manage to create a burst of windows?

Shardul Thakur, who made the return of Team India at the Johannesburg Test, has shared the secret of their success. He said he kept trying to pitch in a particular spot on the field the entire time because after hitting that spot, the ball stayed down and was causing trouble for right-handed hitters.

Shardul said: ‘When I started bowling, I found that the ball was coming straight at the batter after hitting a spot at the 22-yard wicket. From here, the balls also stayed down. That’s why I kept trying to throw in the same spot the whole time and hit the ball in that crevice.

Shardul won 7/61 in South Africa’s first inning on the second day of the match. Due to their excellent bowling game, the African team could not take much advantage and were out for only 229 runs.

After the match, Shardul said: ‘In both Centurion and Johannesburg, we saw that the field helped the fast players well. We just have to find the right spot on the field and keep bowling there. I did the same.

During this, Shardul also spoke about his childhood coach, Dinesh Lad. Shardul said: ‘He has been a huge influence on my cricket career. He was the one who saw the talent in me. I got my admission to Swami Vivekananda International School, from then on my life changed.
