Legendary England fast bowler James Anderson’s dangerous form against India continues. He once again brought the Indian batsmen to their knees and annoyed them with his sharp bowling. Anderson gave England the first breakthrough on day one of the fifth Test against India at Edgbaston and also created a unique record.

Anderson, 39, completed his 100 test wickets against India on English soil. Anderson accomplished this great feat in the seventh over of the inning. He continued his dominance against India with the dismissal of Shubman Gill.

100 wickets against India in England

Anderson gave India the first blow by having Gill catch Jack Crowley on the second slip on the second ball of the over. Along with this, he also did wonders by completing 100 test wickets against India in England. Anderson is playing match number 22 against India in England and has taken 102 wickets so far. In this, he has taken 38 wickets in the first inning while 25, 20 and 19 wickets in the second, third and fourth innings respectively.

Highest Test wicket taker against India

It is worth noting that Anderson is the highest ground taker against India in Test history. He is playing the 35th match against the India team and has taken 136 wickets so far. During this, he has taken five wickets five times. Interestingly, Anderson has taken 102 wickets out of 136 in England. Anderson (136*), Muttiah Muralitharan (105), Imran Khan (94), Nathan Lyon (94) and Malcolm Marshall (76) are the top five bowlers for most wickets in the Tests against India.

Three blows to India

Speaking about the match, apart from Shubman Gill, Anderson also ruled out Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer. Due to his bowling, the Indian team had lost all five of their wickets with a score of 98 in the early innings. However, up to the time of writing, India had scored over 150 runs for the loss of five wickets. For the team, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja were in the crease and had a half-century partnership for sixth wicket.
