IND vs AUS: Shubman Gill matched these veterans by scoring centuries in all three formats in one year

In the fourth Test being played between India and Australia in Ahmedabad, Shubman Gill has scored the second century of his Test career. In this match, he scored an innings of 128 runs aided by 12 fours and 1 six. With this century, Gill has joined a special list of veterans. In 2023, Gill has so far scored a century in all three formats. Gill has become the fourth Indian and tenth batsman in the world to score a century in Test, ODI and T20 International in one year.

Former Sri Lankan batsman Mahel Jayawardene first accomplished this feat in 2010. Following this, Suresh Raina became the first Indian and second batsman in the world to do so. Raina also scored a century in all three formats in 2010. After this this list gradually increased and has now reached Shubman Gill. Gill has scored a century in all three formats in 2023.

Significantly, in the ODI played against New Zealand this year, Gill had scored a double century. He scored an innings of 208 runs with the help of 19 fours and 9 sixes in the ODI match played against New Zealand in Hyderabad on 18 January 2023.

Gill has played a total of 14 Tests, 21 ODIs and 6 T20 Internationals in his international career so far. He has scored 762 runs in Tests at an average of 30.48, 1254 runs in ODI at an average of 73.76 and 202 runs in T20 Internationals at an average of 40.40 and a strike rate of 165.57.
