Johannesburg | The confidence of the Indian team is at its peak after winning the first round in Cape Town. In such a situation, the Indian team has started preparing for the second test in Wanders from January 3. The Indian cricket team was seen practicing on the ground on Saturday, the first day of the new year, the video of which was shared by BCCI.
Team India took a 1-0 lead in the series after winning Test 1 by 113 runs at SuperSport Park in Cape Town. The team led by Virat Kohli capped a memorable 2021 in test cricket by becoming the first Asian team to win a test at Centurion.
The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) released a 32-second video of the Indian team’s training at the Bullring. The video was captioned, “We are here at The Wonders to prepare for the second test. New day, new year and new beginning.”
In the video, the players were seen practicing in the stadium, followed by senior bowler Ishant Sharma bowling. The video ended with captain Virat Kohli hitting, after which head coach Rahul Dravid had a conversation with senior hitter Cheteshwar Pujara.
India has had an impressive record at the Wanderers of South Africa since 1991, having never lost a Test match here. In the five events held in Johannesburg, India won twice and tied three times. South Africa has played 48 games here, winning 18, losing 13 and drawing 11 games.
This is the place where Dravid got his first century test in 1997. At the same time, India won their first Test Match in South Africa in 2006. Interestingly, India’s winning streak abroad started from here, when they won the third test in 2018 for 63 races.
