South Africa defeated India by 7 wickets on the fourth day in the third and final test cricket match to take the series 2-1. India had given a target of 212 runs to South Africa, which the hosts achieved by losing three wickets in the second session of day four. Keegan Pietersen (113) played an important inning of 82 runs for South Africa. India started the series with a win but lost the series after losing the last two matches. In this way, India lost the series after winning the first test for the sixth time. This is the first time that India has lost 2 Tests from a Test series after setting a target of over 200. Not only this, India lost the Test series in South Africa for the 7th time.
