Increased security for former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, got Z-category security

Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly has been given Z-category security by the West Bengal government. Ganguly already had category Y security. But now it has been upgraded. This big decision has been made with his safety in mind. Ganguly currently holds the position of Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals team in IPL.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly’s Z-category security will now have 8-10 police officers. Who will take care of them at all times. In the previous security category, he had 3 policemen. On Tuesday, representatives of the secretary of state arrived at Ganguly’s office in Behala. A meeting was held there with the concerned officials from the Kolkata Lalbazar Police Headquarters and the local police station.

He will return to Calcutta on May 21.

Sourav Ganguly is currently with the Delhi Capitals team. He will return to Kolkata on May 21. From the same day he will start receiving Z category security. He has been the Head of Bengal Cricket Association from 2015 to 2019. Then he has also held the responsibility of the post of BCCI Chairman from the year 2019 to 2022 .

Sourav Ganguly won many matches for the India team on his own. He is counted among the best captains in India. He has scored 7,212 runs in 113 Test matches and 11,363 runs in 311 ODIs for India.
