The Republican Party has taken the lead in the US mid-term elections and needs 8 more seats to take control of the House of Representatives.

Polling for the mid-term elections was held in the United States on November 8. According to the results so far, the Republicans have won 210 seats, while the Democrats have won 195.

Republicans have 49 seats in the Senate and Democrats have 48 seats.
