In the meeting of the Contreras brothers; Cubs beat the Braves

Willson Contreras had three hits and a steal in his first game against his younger brother William, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Atlanta Braves 6-3 on Saturday.

Chicago won a day after snapping a 10-game losing streak and snapping the Braves’ 14-game winning streak.

The Venezuelan Contreras brothers started as wide receivers. It was the first time they have shared the field in the Major Leagues.

The two hugged before Willson, 30, a two-time All-Star, singled in the first inning. He then stole second off his brother and scored on a two-run single by Jonathan Villar.

Later, Willson Contreras doubled and drove in a run.

His 24-year-old brother had a pair of hits for Atlanta.

Justin Steele (2-5) posted his first victory since April 9, when he made his season debut against Milwaukee. He gave up two runs and five hits in five innings.

Kyle Wright (7-4) gave up five runs on 11 hits over six innings.

For the Braves, Venezuelans Ronald Acuña 4-2, Contreras 4-2, Orlando Arcia 4-0. The Dominican Marcell Ozuna 4-0.

For the Cubs, Dominican Christopher Morel 5-1 with a run scored. The Venezuelans Contreras 5-3 with a run scored and produced, Rafal Ortega 4-1 with a run scored and an RBI. The Dominican Villar 3-1 with two RBIs. The Mexican Alfonso Rivas 3-2 with two runs scored.
