The shooting happened at a building on suburban East Main Street that houses the Old National Bank, Louisville Metro Police Department Deputy Police Chief Paul Humphrey said. Shot dead.

The deputy chief said police received a call about a shooting at the Old National Bank around 8:30 a.m. and when they arrived at the scene, shots were still being fired inside the building.
Five people died inside the bank and at least six people, including a police officer, were taken to hospital, he said.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said in a tweet that he was on his way to the scene, “Please pray for the families of the victims and the city of Louisville.” The FBI said its agents were also on the scene.
