SBI Motor Japan customers can now buy used cars using Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin (BTC). That is finally some good news for XRP investors. The currency has been in a downward trend for quite some time since the SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple.
First time using XRP and e-commerce website in Japan
SBI Motor Japan, a subsidiary of SBI Africa Co., recently announced that its customers can now make payments for used cars using Bitcoin (BTC) and Ripple (XRP).
According to a press release, the development marks the first time the XRP token has been used on an e-commerce website in Japan. The BTC and XRP transactions will be settled through SBI VC Trade, the cryptocurrency exchange of the SBI Group.
“We are pleased to announce that our company has started supporting crypto tokens (BTC and XRP) on the SBI Motor Japan site,” said Tomoya Kitagawa, representative of SBI Tokyo.
The exchange will take security measures in an effort to combat money laundering and terrorist financing that could arise through these cryptocurrency transactions, according to SBI.
SBI noted that in addition to supporting BTC and XRP, it will continue to support other key initiatives that meet the needs of its growing customers.
