In India, the capital city has left the hands of the ruling BJP

The Aam Aadmi Party has defeated the BJP in the municipal elections in New Delhi.

According to Indian media, the ruling BJP for the last 15 years in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been wiped out and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won with a majority.

According to the State Election Commission, the Aam Aadmi Party has won 134 out of 250 seats in the Delhi Municipal Corporation.

On the other hand, BJP has won 104 seats, Congress 9 and independent candidates 3.

The BJP was in the majority in the local bodies of New Delhi for 15 years, but now the capital is out of its hands.

The performance of Congress in MCD elections this time was worse than the previous elections. This time only 9 candidates of the party were successful whereas in the previous elections Congress had won in 30 wards.

New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has congratulated the people of Delhi on the victory of Aam Aadmi Party in MCD.

Addressing the workers outside the party office, Arvind Kejriwal said that the people of Delhi have entrusted the responsibility of cleaning Delhi and eliminating corruption to his son and brother.
