Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino will leave Paris Saint Germain in the next few hours, according to the French press on Wednesday. “Pochettino about to be fired”, headlined the newspaper The Parisien and added that the coach’s lawyers and the Parisian club would have already agreed on the conditions and terms to terminate the current contract.
According to information from Le Parisien “between tomorrow and the day after the divorce will be announced definitively after a year and a half in which expectations were not met.” PSG was crowned champion of Ligue 1 but “the fiasco in the Champions League compromised Pochettino and also the already dismissed Leonardo, sports manager.”
On the other hand, the newspaper Mundo Deportivo has not yet ruled out the arrival of Zinedine Zidane at PSG to replace Pochettino, but admits that the negotiations “are stuck at the moment”. Zidane remains the number one option for PSG owners, although if the attempt fails, the name of Christopher Gaultier, Nice coach in the last campaign, appears as a candidate.
