Imran Khan was arrested in the case

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been arrested. He was arrested from Islamabad High Court premises on Tuesday afternoon. PTI chief Imran Khan appeared for two hearings in the Islamabad High Court this afternoon, during which he was arrested from the High Court premises. PTI’s lawyer Faisal Chowdhury confirmed the matter to Pakistani media outlet Dawn.

As reported by Geo News, Al-Qadir was arrested by Rangers in the Trust corruption case. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued an arrest warrant against Imran in the land allotment case. The warrant was issued by NAB Chairman Lieutenant General (Retd.) Nazir Ahmed Butt on May 1.

In the Al-Qadir Trust case, it is said that Imran Khan and his wife took billions of rupees to legitimize a real estate company worth Rs 50 billion.

Several cases are going on against Imran Khan. It also includes cases of corruption. Allegations against Imran Khan, these corruptions took place when he was the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Islamabad Police claimed that Imran was arrested in the Al Qadir Trust case on Tuesday.

This Al Qadir Trust is jointly owned by Imran Khan and his wife Bushera Bibi. The case is mainly related to the land for the establishment of Al-Qadir University. The case has allegations against Imran Khan, his wife Bushera Bibi and other leaders of the organisation. Allegedly, when Imran was the prime minister, an understanding was struck with a commercial group for this university. And for that understanding, Pakistan government suffered a loss of 50 billion rupees. which further fractured Pakistan’s weak economy.

According to the report of the Pakistani news media Geo News, the 50 billion rupees sent to the Pakistani government from Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) were misused by Imran Khan and several ministers of his cabinet. Not only that, several leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf took advantage of 458 kanals of land (57.25 acres) of Mauza Bakrala of Sohawar in the name of building this Al Qadir University.

Meanwhile, Section 144 has been issued in Islamabad. Imran Khan and his wife are accused of taking billions of rupees to legitimize a real estate company worth Rs 50 billion, Islamabad Police said in a statement, quoting Inspector General (IG) Akbar Nasir Khan. Imran was arrested in that case.

The statement added that the situation in Islamabad is normal and Section 144 has been imposed in the city and action will be taken against violators.
