Imran Khan is making a cinematic comeback after a decade-long hiatus. He is set to star in an upcoming film directed by his longtime collaborator, Danish Aslam. Aslam previously helmed Khan’s 2010 romantic comedy, “Break Ke Baad.”
Khan shared details about the new project in a recent interview. He revealed the film draws inspiration from his and Aslam’s personal life experiences. Khan cited Aslam’s marriage and his own divorce as significant influences on the story.
He described the movie as a “personal project” that originated from a desire to tell stories with friends. Filming has already concluded, and the movie is now in post-production. An announcement regarding its streaming platform release date is anticipated shortly.
Actress Bhumi Pednekar will co-star with Khan in the film. Khan noted that Pednekar’s casting was a collective decision. He also praised the production, calling it “the most fun set” of his career. Actor Gurfateh Pirzada is also part of the cast.
Khan’s last film role was in 2015’s “Katti Batti.” He had stepped away from acting due to dissatisfaction with the roles he was being offered. He is now approaching his return to projects with caution.
Interestingly, Khan initially turned down “Break Ke Baad” years ago. He was filming “I Hate Luv Storys” at the time and disliked hearing story pitches. A later conversation with Aslam at a party persuaded him to reconsider and accept the script.
