Important appeal of the Taliban leader to the international community

Hebatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Afghan Taliban, has called on the international community to recognize the Taliban government in Kabul, saying that diplomatic relations with the outside world would help solve the problems of the Afghan people.

Taliban leader Hebatullah Akhundzada said in a written message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday, April 29, that in this day and age the world has become a small village (Global Village) and the Taliban government has gained international recognition. Doing so and establishing diplomatic relations with it will help alleviate the hardships faced by the Afghan people.

In his message, the Taliban leader did not say anything about women’s rights and girls’ high schools. The Taliban have been repeatedly asked by the international community to soften on these issues.

Hebatullah Akhundzada said that the process of recognition of the government should be completed as soon as possible so that we can make fruitful efforts for regular solution of our problems in accordance with diplomatic rules and principles.

Taliban leader Hebatullah Akhundzada has not been seen for many years, living in the Afghan city of Kandahar, far from the general political environment, which is considered the ideological center of the Taliban movement.

Thousands of Afghan women have lost their government jobs since August last year. Afghan women are not allowed to leave the country or even travel from one city to another unless they have a mahram with them.
