All Muslims in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are urged to observe the Shawwal moon on Saturday.
According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Supreme Court has appealed to all citizens to observe the new moon next Saturday, which marks the beginning of the month of Shawwal and the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
April 30th is the 29th day of Ramadan for those countries which observed the first fast of Ramadan on April 2nd.
Earlier, the UAE’s International Astronomical Center had said that Eid al-Fitr would take place on May 2 in countries where the month of Ramadan began on April 2.
The head of the Ruwit Hilal Committee in the United Arab Emirates, along with several other high-ranking officials, has announced to see Kochand on April 30.
The astronomical center also said that it would be impossible to see the Shawwal moon on April 30, but the meeting will be arranged following the Sunnah.
