Bangladesh’s popular folk singer and MP Mumtaz Begum has collected nomination forms to contest the upcoming national general elections. He wants to fight for the Manikganj 2 seat in the Awami League. This artist collected and submitted the nomination form yesterday on the last day of the Awami League party nomination form collection.

In an interview with media persons present at the time, he said, “I am my fellow countrymen, I will invite everyone in my constituency Manikganj-2 to participate in the elections on January 7.”

Come to the polling station and let everyone vote. To continue the development trend, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is needed again. He has no choice. We must unite and elect Sheikh Hasina again.”

He also posted several pictures on social media Facebook after collecting and submitting nomination papers. He wrote in the caption, “Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu.”

Singer Mumtaz Begum became a Member of Parliament for the reserved women’s seat in 2008. In the 2014 election, he received the Awami League party nomination.

He was also elected in the 2018 election.
