Ileana D’Cruz, who made a sparkling Bollywood debut with ‘Barfi’ in 2012, has stepped away from the film industry’s bright lights. These days, she’s building a quiet family life in Texas. She shares this life with her husband, Michael Dolan, and their two little ones. Her acting skills were always much admired. She recently even appeared in the film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’. But now, Ileana is opening up about a topic very close to her heart: protecting her children from the constant glare of cameras.
She recently gave an interview to NDTV. During this chat, Ileana spoke honestly about the idea of her children being photographed in public, especially if they were in India. She made it clear that she’s not keen on the idea at all.
She Doesn’t Want Her Children Photographed
Ileana shared her thoughts directly. She explained that it would be very hard to have photos taken with her children. She felt it would be quite confusing for them. She considers it unfair to them because they are too young to understand what is happening around them. “I am simply not in favor of getting children’s photos clicked,” she stated.
Their Feelings Could Get Hurt
Her main worry is that her young children might not fully grasp why they are constantly followed and photographed. She believes that too much attention from the public could mess with their sense of what’s normal. She wants them to have a childhood free from such intense scrutiny.
Good Relationships with Paparazzi
Even with her concerns, Ileana also mentioned her past positive experiences. She has generally had good relationships with the paparazzi in Mumbai throughout her career. She recalled, “I have always had good connections with the paps in Mumbai.” She added that whenever she told them, “Listen, I’m not comfortable, please don’t take a picture,” they always respected her wishes. Because of this history, she feels they would understand her feelings about her children. She hopes they would agree not to photograph them if the situation ever came up.
Ileana’s Marriage and Children
Ileana married Michael Dolan in a private ceremony in 2023. That same year, in August, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Koa Phoenix Dolan. They later welcomed their second son, Keanu Rafe Dolan, on June 19, 2025.
