Ifema advances the F1 GP in Madrid: “I know when we are going to do it”

The president of the Executive Committee of Ifema Madrid, José Vicente de los Mozosstressed this Thursday that the trade fair institution is waiting for the contract to arrive to make the Formula 1 World Grand Prix in Madridwhich will be held in an urban circuit around the Fairgrounds.

This sporting event, as recently advanced, would generate around 500 million euros a year for the city of Madrid, with an urban circuit around the Fairgrounds and with more than 12 pavilions available to the teams with the aim of converting it “not in a career, but in an experience” and that this is “the best in Europe”.

During an informative breakfast at the Nueva Economía Forum, De los Mozos has also advanced that Ifema Madrid does not want to stay only in Formula 1 but that the objective is to make Madrid “be the world reference” in sporting events “on wheels”.

On living with Barcelona

At the moment, he explained, Ifema Madrid has the exclusive rights in Spain, together with Barcelona, ​​for the organization of an F1 Grand Prix in the country. Likewise, he has defended the procedure that has been carried out in all efforts to negotiate the arrival of Formula 1 in Madrid. “We have followed the process that has been indicated to us. The Spanish Automobile Federation has been informed from the outset, we have signed an exclusivity agreement in December and now we are advancing on the contract”, he specified.

Along these lines, he explained that he has maintained contacts with the manager of the championship, Stefano Domenicali, and “there is mutual trust” to make a Grand Prix in Madrid a reality.
