Apple yesterday introduced the third generation of AirPods, which offers a similar design to the AirPods Pro, with a wand shorter but no removable ear cushions and noise canceling support
The case of the new AirPods also features a new design compared to the second generation AirPods. It’s shorter but wider, though not as much as the AirPods Pro’s.
The new AirPods come with a MagSafe charging cradle, and it turns out Apple has updated AirPods Pro to support its wireless charging standard as well.
MagSafe is a wireless charger that uses magnets to hold the device in a fixed position against the wireless charger. MagSafe Charging Offers Faster charging speeds on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 than regular wireless chargers.
During the event, Apple revealed that the new AirPods case will be compatible with MagSafe wireless charging, but Apple didn’t mention the AirPods Pro update.
Apple mentions the update in the press release for new AirPods, at a point in the pricing and availability section:
AirPods Pro now includes the MagSafe charging case for the same price of €279.
Incorporating MagSafe support does not entail a higher cost, since the AirPods Pro continues to sell for €279.
Some distributors often make discounts on AirPods Pro (you can find them at only €209 on Amazon), so you can get them for an even better price. You just need to make sure the AirPods Pro you buy are compatible with MagSafe charging.as some vendors may stock the non-MagSafe.a version.
The MagSafe update means little to anyone who doesn’t have iPhones or don’t have MagSafe chargers. But if you’re an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 user who’s switched to MagSafe charging or plan to do so in the future, you’ll appreciate the MagSafe update.
