‘If the charge of harassment is proved, I will hang myself’

New Delhi: There has been a protest by women wrestlers in India for several months to take action against the head of the federation Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, but now Brij Bhushan has responded to it.

According to the Indian media, the head of the Wrestling Federation, Brij Bhushan, said that I will not be hanged by throwing the medals in the Ganga. If I am found guilty of even one charge, I myself will be hanged.

Brij Bhushan said that on the first day when I was charged, I said when did it happen, where did it happen, with whom did it happen? It has been four months and the government is not executing me, so they are going to throw their medals in the Ganges.

Brij Bhushan said, “My accusers, throwing the medal in the Ganges will not get me hanged.” If you have evidence, give it to the police, give it to the court. If I get the death sentence, I will be hanged. Those who make such statements are playing emotional drama.”

Brij Bhushan added, “It is such an allegation that our own people start saying that there is no smoke without fire.” Accusations are being made on me because God wants to do something big from us! I don’t want to give bad prayers. There have been 7 medals in the Olympics, 5 of them during my tenure.

It should be noted that after the torture and arrest of female wrestlers who protested against sexual harassment in India in recent days, United World Wrestling (UWW) has come to the field to defend them and issued a strong warning to the Indian Wrestling Federation.
