Veteran Indian actor Sudhir Dalvi is currently in critical condition, battling sepsis. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on October 8.
His family has issued an appeal for financial assistance to cover his ongoing medical treatment. Ranbir Kapoor’s sister, Riddhima Kapoor, has notably extended help to the veteran actor.
Dalvi has dedicated five decades of his life to the acting profession across both film and television. He is widely recognized for his portrayal of Sai Baba.
His acting career began with the 1974 film 27 Down. He gained significant fame after starring in the lead role of the 1977 film Shirdi Ke Sai Baba.
That film chronicled the story of a sick child’s miraculous recovery in Shirdi. It featured an ensemble cast including Manoj Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, and Hema Malini, with Manoj Kumar also writing the screenplay.
Dalvi later appeared in numerous other Hindi films, including Manoj Kumar’s Kranti. His last known film role was in Accused Me in 2003.
On television, Dalvi was a prominent face in mythological and historical series. He notably played Guru Vashishtha in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic series Ramayana.
His extensive TV credits include Jai Hanuman, Vishnu Puran, Bharat Ek Khoj, and Chanakya. He also appeared in the popular daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Govardhan Virani. His last known television appearance was in the series Woh Hue Na Humare.
