These days Indian cricket team is playing T20 series against Ireland. Now, while playing ODI cricket, the team will face Pakistan on September 2 during the 2023 Asian Cup. If we talk about test cricket then the team has to play red ball cricket right in December. Meanwhile, there have been some changes in the latest ICC rankings published on Wednesday 23 August. What made it stand out was Ruturaj Gaikwad’s long jump, who played half a century in the second T20 against Ireland. At the same time, Shubman Gill has overtaken Pakistan’s star batsman in the ODI rankings and secured a place in the headlines.

Shubman Gill defeated the Pakistani player

However, Shubman Gill’s performance in the recent ODI series against the West Indies was nothing special. Previously, he also flopped against Australia in March. But he remains in the top five even after the streak of Centurys he scored against Sri Lanka and New Zealand earlier in the year, including a double century. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman slipped two places in the latest ODI batsmen rankings and Gill took direct advantage of this, moving up from 5th to 4th place. While Fakhar has slipped to fifth place. Another Pakistani player, Imam-ul-Haq, has moved up from fourth to third place.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s long jump

In the Ireland series, Team India opener and vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has made a quantum leap up the latest T20 International rankings. In the first game of the current series he scored 19 of 16 balls unbeaten and in the second game 58 of 43 balls. He is now up 143 spots in the current rankings and ranks 87th among the T20 Internationals batsmen. Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi also made up 17 places. Bishnoi, who has taken four wickets in two games against Ireland in the current series, has now moved up to 65th place. Bumrah has also moved up seven spots on his return to international cricket and is now 84th.
