Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Saif Ali Khan, recently opened up about the shocking knife attack on his father. In an exclusive chat with GQ India, Ibrahim shared his emotional account of the incident.
A Life-Changing Moment
Ibrahim was filming late at night when the attack occurred at around 2:30 am. He didn’t find out until three hours later and rushed to his father’s side. Saif had just come out of surgery and was in the ICU. As Ibrahim arrived, Saif opened his eyes, spoke briefly with his wife Sara, and asked about his son. Ibrahim was overjoyed to hear his father’s voice and reassured him that he was there.
The attack was a harrowing experience for the family. Ibrahim revealed that the incident brought him closer to his father. He said, “If someone in your family faces death, you don’t take them for granted anymore. You become more present in the relationship.” This near-death experience had a profound impact on Ibrahim and Saif’s bond.
Debunking Reports
There were reports that Ibrahim and his younger brother Taimur accompanied Saif to the hospital after the attack. However, Ibrahim clarified that his father went alone and sought help by himself. The incident occurred on January 16 when an unknown person attacked Saif with a knife at his home.
Ibrahim shared a poignant moment when Saif told him that if he had been present during the attack, he would have beaten up the attacker. This statement left Ibrahim tearful, and he wished he had been there to protect his father. The thought of the worst possible outcome was terrifying for him.
