Ian Cathro Celebrates Estoril’s Cup Victory: ‘Objective Achieved’

Estoril Praia advanced to the fourth round of the Portuguese Cup, with coach Ian Cathro expressing satisfaction over the team’s objective and the strong performance of players who typically see fewer minutes.

The team secured its spot in the next stage with a victory over Belenenses. Cathro acknowledged that while there were “mistakes and good things,” the primary goal was achieved.

He specifically highlighted the “response” from squad members who have had limited playing time. These players “showed their quality and gained more experience to be able to help the team,” Cathro said.

During the match, central defender Ferro was substituted at halftime after receiving medical attention earlier in the first half.

Cathro indicated that Ferro “felt a bit of discomfort.” He added that he was awaiting information from the medical team but believed the injury was “nothing serious.”
