I will accept death sentence but I will not beg for life, Yasin Malik

Yasin Malik, a Kashmiri freedom fighter in Indian custody, has said that he would accept the death sentence handed down by an Indian court but would not beg for life.

According to Indian media, Yasin Malik, a Hurriyat militant leader, is likely to be sentenced by an Indian court today in a fake terrorism funding case against him.

Yasin Malik, in a statement to the Indian court through his lawyer, said, “I have been following Gandhi’s principles for the last several decades. I have worked with seven Indian prime ministers. If Indian intelligence during my 28-year career If he proves my involvement in this activity and violence, I will quit politics and accept the death penalty.

“I will not beg for a sentence, I have left my decision to the court,” he said.

It may be recalled that after a unilateral trial by the NIA court on May 19, Yasin Malik was found guilty in a false case registered in 2017. Yasin Malik has been lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail for a long time.
