I was disappointed that no one tried anything

With all the expectations that stage 14 of the Vuelta had generated, it was finally a great disappointment. A port like that of Villuercas offered great possibilities to the favorites and practically nothing was seen. Many long fugitives and a good Bardet, who prevailed over the others. The rest, little history. If they put this port as the end of the stage, as a spectator I was disappointed that nobody tried anything. Even so, I think this route should stay for later editions of the Vuelta. By incentives it will not be.

The fall of Dani Navarro was a shame, but it would have been very difficult with Bardet, and with Herrada we were left with another second place. We have had a very bad season in the Grand Tours, the stage victory in the Vuelta, the Giro and the Tour resists us and at the moment it doesn’t look like things are going to improve.

As for the general, Bernal endured and I hope he looks the same from now on. In general terms, the more the merrier.

The next stage, prior to the rest day, it’s a great mountain stage that, strategically, it can be beautiful to see, but it remains to be seen if the runners throw the rest. I find it difficult for someone to move.
