The son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, head of the Northern Alliance, gave the green signal for talks with the Taliban.
In an interview with the Arab newspaper, Massoud said he was ready to co-operate in forming a broad-based government through dialogue with the Taliban.
“If the way is clear to ensure peace and security in Afghanistan, then we are ready to forgive the blood of the father who was martyred by the Taliban,” he said.
Ahmad Shah Masood’s son said that the only way forward is through talks. We do not want war but we will resist any aggression.
He said that no one could bend by force. The only solution for Afghanistan is to establish strong local governments.
It should be noted that the Taliban in Afghanistan have occupied almost all parts of the country, including Kabul, and at present their top leadership, including Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is present in the Afghan capital and is considering forming a government in the country.
Panjshir is the only area still out of Taliban control. Panjshir is one of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, about three hours from Kabul.
The province was not under Taliban control from 1996 to 2001, and the Northern Alliance (Northern Alliance) led by Ahmad Shah Masood, known as the “Lion Panjshir”, fought against the Taliban. He used to fight in this area.
Ahmed Shah Mehsud’s son Ahmed Masood is in the area who wrote in an article in the Washington Post a few days ago that he and his fighters are ready to fight the Taliban.
The head of the High National Reconciliation Council, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, is currently in Kabul, where he met with influential Panjshir figures, including religious leaders and armed commanders, at his home on Saturday.
