On November 2, coinciding with Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday, the title for his upcoming film was officially revealed as “King.” The announcement has generated significant buzz among his global fanbase.
An intense announcement video accompanied the title reveal. It showcased Khan in a fierce action avatar, a role he has successfully embraced in recent projects.
The clip, shared by the filmmakers, featured a chilling voice-over from Khan. He declared, “How many I’ve killed, I don’t remember. Were they good or bad, I never asked. I just saw in their eyes the realization that it was their last breath. And I was the cause.”
Khan continued, “A thousand crimes, infamous in a hundred countries. The world gave only one name: ‘King’. I am not fear, I am terror. It’s showtime.” This monologue sets a dark and ruthless tone for the upcoming movie.

The video depicted numerous high-octane action sequences. Khan was seen firing weapons and engaging in brutal hand-to-hand combat. A particularly striking scene showed him breaking an opponent’s tooth with a single, powerful strike.
The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, marking his second collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan after their blockbuster hit “Pathaan.” Anand also shared the reveal on his personal Instagram account. He captioned his post with the film’s tagline: “Infamous in a hundred countries. The world gave only one name – King.”

“King” is scheduled for release in 2026. The project is a joint production between Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
