Muscat: Typhoon Shaheen hit the coast of the Gulf state of Oman, disrupting livelihoods and flooding many areas.
According to Arab media reports, the typhoon hit the coast of the Sultanate of Oman on Sunday morning, causing flooding in several places, and images and video clips of torrential rains and strong winds went viral on social media.
The report said that heavy rains were falling in Muscat province due to Hurricane Shaheen.

Omani Civil Defense says the storm also caused various accidents, severe financial losses and evacuated 25 stranded cities.

The epicenter of Hurricane Shaheen was about 130km from Muscat province, while the wind speed around the center was estimated at 116km / h, the agency said.
Meanwhile, the Omani Ministry of Health implemented a national emergency plan to deal with the effects of Hurricane Shaheen.
