Dakota Hudson and four relievers combined to help the St. Louis Cardinals snap the San Francisco Giants’ six-game winning streak by shutting them out 4-0 on Saturday.

The Cardinals posted their fourth shutout of the season. The Los Angeles Angels began the day as leaders of the majors in this category, with seven. Yadier Molina hit a double and a single, in addition to scoring a run. The Puerto Rican opened the second act with a double that crashed the ball against the crest of the fence, between right and center field. With it, he reached 2,128 hits in his career and passed Mike Piazza as the sixth most hits catcher in history. Hudson (3-2) gave up five hits and walked two in five innings. The Dominican Genesis Cabrera, Andre Pallante, Ryan Helsley and the Mexican Giovanny Gallegos covered the last four innings.
