Huawei’s HarmonyOS Installed on Over 100 Million Devices

Huawei has reached a major milestone with its HarmonyOS operating system. The company has installed the software on over 100 million devices worldwide. This includes 46 million smartphones sold in 2024 alone.

HarmonyOS Expansion

The operating system isn’t just limited to smartphones. Huawei has also installed HarmonyOS on 10.5 million tablets as of 2024. The company’s goal is to create a robust ecosystem of hardware and software that seamlessly integrates with each other.

Huawei first announced HarmonyOS in 2019 and began rolling out updates to consumer devices in mid-2021. The operating system has become the backbone of Huawei’s product lineup, including smartphones, tablets, wearables, audio products, smart home devices, and even personal computers.

Personal Computers

In fact, Canalys reports that Huawei has sold 4.2 million personal computers with HarmonyOS, including 3.2 million laptops. This is a significant milestone for the company, which is looking to expand its presence in the global market.

Future Developments

Huawei is already working on the next version of HarmonyOS, which will focus on artificial intelligence and cloud capabilities. The company plans to release HarmonyOS 6.0 in late 2025, which will enable more streamlined interactions between different devices and platforms.

According to Canalys, the update will help Huawei position HarmonyOS as a viable alternative to other operating systems in the global market. With its growing ecosystem and expanding device lineup, Huawei is poised to become a major player in the tech industry.
