Granted patents are a great way to get a heads-up on companies’ plans for their next products. This is precisely how we know the 3D camera system that Huawei will be able to launch on its smartphones.
The document in question was recently approved by the International Intellectual Property Organization. It serves as a presentation of the possible future of the cameras in the smartphones of the former Chinese giant.

Huawei develops camera capable of recognizing various aspects of the user’s face
According to what is described in the document in question, Huawei’s new camera system will be able to recognize the user’s face in three dimensions. Something that reminds us of the Face ID system developed by Apple.
However, Huawei’s new system aims to recognize various patterns on the face, namely pore condition, color tone, redness, acne, wrinkles, blackheads, and more. With its companion software, the smartphone will be able to provide advice to improve the quality of the skin.
This innovative system will, of course, also be able to take conventional photographs such as those currently available to us. It will be housed in a circular module, as we can see in the representations that accompany this article.

This circular module will be in the center of the smartphone’s rear panel and will house three sensors and a dual flash. In the center there will be a secondary screen that will support selfies taken with the main camera system of this device.
What could motivate Huawei to develop such technology is something that remains a secret in the offices of the Chinese company. There is no doubt that the concept is being explored, but its realization is not yet guaranteed.
With the legal approval of this patent, Huawei has met all the legal parameters for the commercialization of this technology. Its commercialization only depends on Chinese technology.
