Huawei Leads Global Wearable Market, Apple Ranks Third

The global wearables market is booming. In the first quarter of 2025, Huawei shipped 10 million devices, grabbing 21.9% of the market share. That’s a 42.4% jump from the same period last year.

Xiaomi is hot on its heels, with 8.7 million shipments and a 19% market share. The Chinese tech giant saw a 42.6% growth from the previous year. Apple comes in third, with 7 million shipments and a 15.5% market share, marking a 37.2% increase.

The top five is rounded out by Samsung, with 3.4 million shipments and a 7.5% market share, and Garmin, with 2.1 million shipments and a 4.7% market share. Garmin’s sales grew 29.5% from the previous year.

According to IDC China, the global wearables market shipped 45.6 million devices in the first quarter of 2025. This includes 37.81 million smartwatches and 10.76 million smart bands, a 10.5% increase from the same period in 2024.

The Chinese market is driving this growth, with 17.62 million shipments, a 37.6% jump from the previous year. The government’s subsidies for new tech purchases have given the market a significant boost. IDC China predicts that the wearables market will grow 36.9% in 2025 compared to the previous year.
