Huawei is building massive chip factories in China to produce Kirin and Ascend chips. These factories will focus on 7-nanometer chip production, including Kirin chips for smartphones and Ascend AI chips.
The new facilities are located near other Chinese chip manufacturers, Pengxinwei and Shenzhen Pensun which might be part of Huawei’s production network. This setup could speed up resource gathering and strengthen ties between Huawei and its partners.
Government Support and Partnerships
The project is backed by local government funding. Huawei isn’t directly managing these factories. Instead, companies like SiCarrier and SwaySure will handle operations. Huawei will provide initial support before handing over management.
