How OGC Nice will secure the Allianz Riviera before spectators return

The images of the invasion of the field and the violent clashes had gone around the world and shocked the football planet. Faced with this situation, the president of the OGCN Jean-Pierre Rivère decided to put in place a new security system to prevent any risk of overflow and intrusion.

Water bottles prohibited and anti-projectile net

The club has decided to ban water bottles in the stadium which will be replaced by cups.

In addition, a new net will be installed in front of the South stand where the incidents broke out. This anti-projectile net will measure 70 meters wide by 16 meters high and will be placed 48 hours before the matches. This stand remains closed for the next two matches (Monaco and Brest) after the sanctions taken by the League’s Disciplinary Commission (three matches behind closed doors including that of OM which will be replayed on neutral ground).

Fans away from the pitch

A net will also be placed in front of the Ray grandstand. It will also become impossible for supporters to access the pitch. Indeed, the current stand at 1 meter from the ground is easy to cross. So that three to four rows of chairs will be removed to raise the platform to 2.64 m from the ground.

As a reminder, the Disciplinary Commission of the Football League has decided to replay the Nice-Marseille match, completely behind closed doors on a relocated field.

In addition, two penalty points were imposed on the OGCN, including one suspended point.

Nice will travel to Nantes this Sunday (5 p.m.) on behalf of the fifth day of Ligue 1.
