How much do social media content creators earn and how long do they work?

Creating content for social networks has become a profession. There are thousands of people who have even left their formal jobs to use their influence and creativity to generate money.

This is a growing industry groups around 200 million creators in the worldaccording to a recent report published by Linktree, a tool that allows links to other websites to be brought together on a single page.

For those wondering how profitable this business can be, the study indicates that By spending more than 10 hours a week creating content, a person can earn between $100,000 and $500,000 a year.

53% of those over 9,500 creators who participated in the research indicated that if they dedicate less than five hours a week they generate less than US$100 per year.

32% of those earning between $100 and $10,000 a year spend more than 10 hours a week; 52% of those who earn between $50,000 and $100,000 a year work in this field less than 10 hours a week; and 48% of those earning between $100,000 and $500,000 a year put in more than 10 hours a week.

Overall, 66% of study participants consider themselves part-time creators, and 43% spend five hours or less per week creating content.

The study notes that, regardless of their income, all the people who are dedicated to creating content for social networks feel stressedbut those who dedicate themselves to this full time feel more fatigued.


Social networks have more than 4,000 million users among whom, in addition to the creators, there are 200 million people who are dedicated to any activity to monetize.

Those engaged in this business are advised to focus more on the quality than the quantity of their audiences; that they invest in the creation of niche content; and don’t be afraid to switch channels or platforms and format types, the study says.
