Former England cricketer Monty Panesar has given an important piece of advice to the Indian team. He has given Team India the mantra of victory against his own team. He said that Team India needs to follow Australia's path to face England in the upcoming Test series. He tried to explain his point using the last Ashes series as an example.
Speaking to News-18 Cricket Next, Panesar said, “I think England will play with a very aggressive attitude in this series. “If the Indian team is surprised by this, then understand that they have not prepared well. They must be prepared for England's aggressive stance. They need to do the same thing Australia did in the last Ashes. The Kangaroos first saw what England were doing and then prepared a strategy with their stronger teams.
Panesar said, “The Indian team should wait for England's attack first.” They should see what it is like. Only then can he understand the strategy of the English team. Once he understands England's game plan he can succeed. He might know how to beat the guests.
Monty Panesar cited the example of Australia here because last year the Kangaroo team managed to retain the Ashes trophy by beating England with a 2-2 draw. Here Australia challenged the English style of baseball in its own unique way.
Monty Panesar has good experience in Test cricket in India. He played an important role in England's victory in the Test series held here in 2012/13. This was the last series in which a visiting team beat India on their own soil. Since this series, the Indian team has not lost a Test series on home soil.
