Houthi militants attack Abha airport, injuring eight civilians

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s busy Abha airport has once again been hit by a drone strike by Houthi fighters.

According to the Arab News Agency, a drone strike was carried out by Iranian-backed Houthi fighters at Abha Airport in the Gulf state of Saudi Arabia, injuring eight people and damaging one plane.

Arab media say Saudi forces and Arab coalition forces foiled a drone strike on Abha airport.

It may be recalled that on Monday, the Arab League shot down two drones, one of which was sent to Jazan and the other to Najran. Both provinces are on the border with Yemen.

It should be noted that since the capture of the Yemeni capital Sanaa in 2014, Houthi militias have controlled large parts of the country.
