House Of The Dragon: Targaryen and Civil War – first trailer for the Game Of Thrones series

The first trailer for House of the Dragon is finally here. The prequel series of Game Of Thrones, signed HBO, is planned for this summer. Based on the book Fire and Blood of George RR Martin, House of the Dragon takes place approximately 200 years before the events of the flagship series and follows the Targaryen dynasty that rules the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The series will follow their downfall, including the civil war known as the the dance of the dragons which will cause them to disappear.

Paddy Considine will play the role of King Viserys I Targaryenfifth king of the Seven Kingdoms. Matt Smith will play the role of his brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen, heir to the iron throne. The cast is rounded out with key family members Targaryen and their close circle, in particular Emma D’Arcy in the role of the princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Rhys Ifans in the role ofOtto Hightower (the King’s Hand), Olivia Cooke in the role of Millicent Hightower (his daughter) and Sonoya Mizuno in the role of Mysaria (Prince Daemon’s most trusted advisor). Steve Toussaint, Eve Best and Fabien Frankel are also announced.

After months of waiting, HBO released the first House of the Dragon trailer. We see the beginnings of the civil war of the Targaryen, including infighting within the family and the various actors vying for power and control of the Iron Throne. The series will debut with a first episode as soon as next August 21. Based on its usual format of 10 episodes per seasonit is expected more than fifteen dragons that we should probably see kill each other in the second season.
