Horrific UN revelation about Ukraine

The United Nations has identified 200 bodies in a mass grave in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

More than a month after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, many shocking events and horrific revelations have been made. Recently, the United Nations has revealed the existence of mass graves in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

The head of a UN human rights team has made further revelations about mass graves in the eastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol, saying 200 bodies had been found in one such mass grave.

The official said in a news conference that there were bodies in the mass grave but it was not clear from the satellite images whether the dead were soldiers or civilians. According to the official, very few of the dead were from Mariupol because of the heavy bombardment and difficult verification process.

He added that the number of civilian casualties and the scale of the devastation raised serious concerns and there was a strong possibility that there had been serious violations of international humanitarian law and indiscriminate attacks.

Earlier in the day, the World Food Program (WFP) had also expressed serious concerns about food in the city of Mariupol, saying that no food aid had been delivered to the city due to the siege.

According to the United Nations, at least 1,081 people have been killed in Ukraine in the first month of the Russian offensive on February 24.
