Doha: US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken, commenting on the situation in Afghanistan, said that there are still more than 100 American citizens in Afghanistan who will be expelled soon.
He made the remarks at a press conference with his Qatari counterpart in Doha, the capital of the Gulf state of Qatar.
He said that he was in touch with the Taliban on the issue of evacuation of foreigners and the Taliban had reiterated its promise to ensure the evacuation of foreigners.
Regarding the Afghan Taliban, Anthony Blanken said that the Taliban have said that those who have legal documents will be released.
“More than 100 Americans are still in Afghanistan, and we hope that the remaining Americans will be evacuated soon,” he said.
It may be recalled that in view of the crisis in Afghanistan, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken had arrived in Doha a few hours ago for talks with Qatari leaders.
