Honor will debut in the foldable smartphone market on January 10 with the presentation of the Honor Magic V. It is a conventional foldable to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold line and the like.
So far, the brand has managed to maintain a considerable level of secrecy around its first folding. However, a few days after the official presentation of the Honor Magic V, the specifications of this folding were revealed.
Honor Magic V will be the first foldable with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
One of the main milestones of this Honor Magic V will be its status as a pioneer in the use of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. In fact, this will be the first foldable in the world to feature the brand new high-end processor from Qualcomm.
As proof of its high-end status, the Honor Magic V will come equipped with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The battery will have a 4700 mAh cell with fast charging at 66 W.
Let’s now go to the main part of any folding, that is, to its screens. This Honor Magic V will feature a 7.9-inch OLED internal panel and a resolution of 2272 x 1984 pixels. In addition, it will have a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Abroad, the Chinese brand will use a 6.45-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. Interestingly, it will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, an asset that is usually reserved for the interior of the smartphone.
Your photographic component will be entitled to three 50 MP sensors on the rear. We will have a wide-angle lens with an aperture of f / 1.9, a wide-angle lens with an aperture of f / 2.2, and a third sensor whose purpose is yet to be clarified.
For lovers of selfies, there will only be a 42 MP sensor on the outer screen of the smartphone. As far as it is known, there shouldn’t be a similar camera on the internal panel of this Honor Magic V.
It only remains to inform you that the first Honor folding will have a base price of around € 1900. It will not be a device for the masses, ranking even above what Samsung asks for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
