Chinese smartphone maker Honor has unveiled its new 500 Series in China, featuring a design drawing inspiration from Apple’s iPhone Air while packing a massive battery, high-resolution cameras, and advanced chipsets at competitive price points.
The new lineup includes two models: the Honor 500 and the Honor 500 Pro. Both devices share a similar aesthetic to the iPhone Air, with comparable overall shape, perceived thinness, color palettes, and a distinctive horizontal rear camera module.
Available colors for the series include Aquamarine, Starlight Powder, Moonlight Silver, and Obsidian Black.
Despite the design similarities, Honor has integrated robust internal specifications that differentiate its new series. The phones are equipped with an 8,000 mAh Silicon Carbon battery and a powerful 200-megapixel main camera system.
The Honor 500 Pro model features a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, while the standard Honor 500 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip.
Both models come with a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED 120Hz display, offering a resolution of 1264 x 2736 pixels and reaching a peak brightness of 6,000 Nits. A 50-megapixel punch-hole camera is located at the front, alongside an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Honor 500 series is physically thicker and heavier than the iPhone Air, measuring 7.8mm in thickness and weighing between 198-201 grams. This increase in size is attributed to the larger battery capacity, more advanced camera hardware, and IP68 and IP69K water resistance ratings.
Camera specifications for the Honor 500 include a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Pro version adds a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom to this setup.
The devices run on Android 16, overlaid with Honor’s MagicOS 10. Their 8,000 mAh batteries support 80W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W wired reverse charging capabilities.
Pricing for the Honor 500 series in China starts at approximately $370 for the base Honor 500 model (12GB RAM/256GB storage). The top-tier Honor 500 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced around $657.
Pre-orders for the series have commenced in China, with deliveries expected to begin on November 27. International availability details have not yet been announced.
