The police seized a 1.3 tons of ketamine this Friday in Hong Kong. The cargo is worth more than $ 100 million (Hong Kong $ 840 million), according to local police.
This is the largest seizure of this drug in the territory. Three Hong Kong men and one Indian man, aged 32 to 47, were arrested and detained. The investigation is continuing and the police are not ruling out further arrests.

Drugs carried in a speedboat
The drugs were intercepted by police on Friday morning as they were unloaded from a speedboat in a seaside area. Drug traffickers use fishing boats or ocean-going vessels to transport drugs […] near Hong Kong waters, ”the chief inspector explained. “They then use speedboats to bring the drugs back to shore. “
Covid-19 travel restrictions, police say, are forcing traffickers to make riskier bulk deliveries, instead of using mules to transport drugs through airports. They will likely continue to operate this way if Hong Kong maintains its health restrictions, police say.
