Homosexuality not a crime, gays to be welcomed into church, Pope Francis

VATICAN CITY: Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of Catholic Christians, says homosexuality is not a crime and will welcome homosexuals into the church.

In an interview with a foreign news agency, Pope Francis said that homosexuality is not a crime and the laws against it are unjust.

Pope Francis added that while homosexuals would be welcomed into the church, churches must come forward to end anti-gay laws.

He said that God loves all his children as they are, and would oppose any discriminatory legislation against homosexuals.

The spiritual leader of Catholic Christians said there is a need to distinguish between guilt and sin related to homosexuality.

It should be noted that approximately 67 countries around the world criminalize homosexuality and 11 of them have the death penalty.
