The American Max Homa came back this Sunday to his compatriot Keegan Bradley and was proclaimed winner of the Wells Fargo Championshipwhich is his second victory in this tournament after the one he got in 2019.
The golfer, who will soon be a father, joked on Twitter about how special this Sunday had been for him in which Mother’s Day is celebrated in the United States.
“My son-to-be is going to have a really hard time getting through this Mother’s Day. Good luck son! Thank you all for the support,” he said.
Homa, who started on Sunday in second position two shots behind Bradley, delivered a card of 68 shots (-2) on the final day of the tournament and claimed the win with -8 overall in a weather marred Wells Fargo Championship.
Bradley could not keep up his pace, delivered a +2 card this Sunday and finished two shots in all of Homa.
Also with -6 ended his participation in the tournament the British Matt Fitzpatrick and American Cameron Young.
This is the fourth title for Homa throughout its trajectory.
Regarding the Hispanic representatives in the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm (Maryland, USA), the Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas finished his participation with -1 in total, the Spanish Sergio García signed the pair of the field (-2 on his last day) and the Colombian Camilo Villegas and the Mexican Abraham Ancer finished with +9 in total.
Sergio García has been one of the great protagonists of this tournament due to his anger on Thursday due to a controversial decision by the referees when trying to find a ball (the organization later admitted that the Spaniard was right in his complaints).
