Naomi Pearlman, a Holocaust survivor, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, the Israeli army said. The woman living in Israel had been hit by gunfire during the last war between the Jewish state and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, in power in the Gaza Strip.
Aged 90 or 91, the victim had his legs amputated after being injured by rocket fire from the Gaza Strip on the city of Ashkelon. The shot killed Soumya Santosh, her Indian aide who had lived with her for years, instantly.
