Hockey Federation intends to give great impetus to that sport

The president of the Dominican Field Hockey Federation, Miguel Hernández, proclaimed that this organization intends to give a great boost to the practice of that sport, after the Covid-19 pandemic crisis has been overcome.

Hernández said that the immediate plans and projects for hockey is to obtain the new folder for the main field of the stadium located in Parque del Este, with the help provided by the International Federation and the Ministry of Sports.

“We are very optimistic and we hope to have the new folder installed soon,” said Hernández before delegates from the 9 affiliated associations of the FDH, gathered last Saturday in an ordinary general assembly, in the Juan Ulises García Saleta room (Wiche), of the Olympic Committee. Dominican.

Recently, thePresident of the Pan American Field Hockey Confederation, the Argentine Alberto Budeisky, announced that the International Federation of this sport will donate a folder to the country to replace the one that has the field of the discipline in the Parque del Este complex.

Budeisky, who is also a member of the executive committee of the International Field Hockey Federation, explained that the donated folder will be made of sand at a cost of 180 dollars, which will replace the synthetic one that the field has and that it is in deplorable conditions.

Hockey activities have been taking place on an alternate field in the Parque del Este.

Within the framework of the assembly, Hernández presented a comprehensive and detailed report on his management at the head of that body, which was unanimously approved by the delegates present at the assembly.

Likewise, reports were presented by Jhenifer Veras, in her capacity as co-secretary general, as well as Ronny Mata, secretary of Organization, and Samuel Ramírez, treasurer, all of which were approved by the assembly.

The assembly was attended by the associations of theNational District, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Santiago, Valverde Mao, Montecristi, San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor and La Romana.

Likewise, the Executive Committee of the FDH, Messrs. Miguel Hernández, President; Carolin L. Sosa F, First Vice President; Wednel Cabrera G., second vice president; Jhenyfer L. Veras A., co-secretary; Samuel Ramírez Guerrero, treasurer; Ronny David Mata, organizing secretary; the vocals Rafael Suero Acevedo, Félix Ramón Paulino and Ramón Francisco Sosa.

Katy A. Rivas Contreras, secretary general, and member Jennellys A. De la Cruz were absent with excuses.

During the assembly, a minute of silence was observed in memory of Rafael Sosa Nolasco, who was president of the FDH.
